Let the Kids Run the Kitchen. Gail Street inn Kids Commercial

This one was fun.

But it started with real prep. We spent time finding the right kid to play the lead chef. That mattered. We went through multiple script revisions before landing on the version you see now. Tone had to be confident, a little sharp, but still playful.

Once the script was locked, we built the shot list and storyboard. That part is always one of my favorites. When you know exactly what you are walking into, the day runs smoother. Less guessing. More executing.

We sourced our lead chef through a Chicago talent agency that delivers strong, trained actors. Worth it. The kid could talk. His delivery, his timing, some of the lines had me cracking up behind the camera. He brought personality without overdoing it.

The rest of the cast came from the neighborhood, including my daughter Violet. Seeing her step into the frame instead of helping behind the scenes was a cool shift.

Most of the setups were clean two angle coverage. Simple and controlled. The hardest move was the tracking shot through the kitchen. I was on a gimbal, moving backward through tight space, trying to stay smooth and not eat it on a prep table. You feel that kind of pressure in your legs.

We had a hard window from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the restaurant opened and the kitchen heat went live. We got every shot. Wrapped on time. No scramble.

The kids showed up ready. The energy stayed high. It felt organized, focused, and honestly, just a good time.

Big shout out to Paulo, Jessie, Melissa, and Sergio for helping bring this project together. Could not have done it without the team.

If you want to show your business in a way people have not seen before, build it with intention. Plan it. Execute it. Keep it tight.

When you are ready to do that, we can talk.
